WILMINGTON – Mayfaire has had a continuous list of tenants at its 610,000 square foot shopping center on Military Cutoff Road for the past 20 years. Anchored by Regal Cinemas and the Belk department store, the city centers have announced a new batch of businesses – eight to be exact – that have opened or will soon be doing so.
From handmade plant-based soaps to sportswear, from a DIY art studio inspired by the social media site Pinterest to a new Mediterranean restaurant, here is the recap of the new outlets and restaurants.
Buff city soap
A line formed along the sidewalk Thursday morning as Buff City prepared to open at 1039 International Dr. The first 50 people were treated to free soap for a year. Buff City products are herbal, do not use harsh chemicals and are free from animal fats. More so, they are made daily with nourishing ingredients. The company also sells face and shaving bars, beard care, hand soap, bath and shower products, and laundry products.
Located next to First Watch, the free soap giveaway runs until Sunday, September 26 for the first 50 customers each day. The store opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.
lululemon is now open and specializes in yoga, running, training and sports equipment for women and men. Leggings, joggers, ribs, pants, shirts, shorts, swimwear, accessories – the offers are plentiful.
lululemon will operate at 6863 Main Street.
From weddings to birthdays, from room redesigns to holiday decors, Pinterest has become a staple for creative inspiration. Today, a store is dedicated to him.
Pinspiration is a DIY art studio that welcomes all ages to craft and create. Materials are provided and manufacturers can work at their own pace with simple tutorials. The studio is located at 865 Inspiration Drive.
Formerly known as A’Beautiful Soul – a brand of women’s clothing offered in the state of Altar’d – Arula offers items for shoppers of medium and tall height. The opening is scheduled for November 1 while the store is under construction at 6861 Main Street.
Located at 6837 Main St., next to Banana Republic, Simply Mac focuses on Apple products.
The 2,300 square foot space is a premier partner selling all Apple products and accessories, and provides warranty service and repairs on its products.
My sister’s cottage
Expanded and Renovated My Sister’s Cottage at 6869 Main St. It sells clothes, housewares and gifts, with 10% of every purchase helping to save women from sex trafficking. This money is used to build cabins (safe houses), as well as to provide clothing and resources that provide healing and support.
Torrid offers a fashionable shopping experience for women aged 10-30. Owned by Sycamore Partners – which has a portfolio of retail investments from Limited to Lane Bryant, Aeropostle to Nine West – Torrid sells jeans, dresses, pants, skirts, underwear, jackets, shoes and accessories.
Torrid will open next to H&M before Christmas at 833 Town Center Drive, Unit 115.
Zoes Kitchen may have closed on September 8, but Mediterranean offerings won’t be lacking in Mayfaire at all. In its place comes CAVA – a Texas-based Mediterranean restaurant with a food assembly line that allows diners to customize their orders. CAVA offers a wide variety of bases, spreads, proteins and toppings. It will be located at 1011 International Dr.
