Affluent Fort Worth neighbor is one of America’s richest communities

The quiet enclave dotted with mansions of Westover Hills is one of the wealthiest cities in the country, confirms a new study. The wealthy neighbor of Fort Worth is the 5th richest suburb in the United States.

RenoFi, a marketplace for home improvement loans, studied data from more than 600 suburbs in 50 major US cities to come up with its listing.

Data shows that Westover Hills has a median household income of $ 228,750. The top four suburbs have a median household income of at least $ 250,000, with the Kansas City suburb of Mission Hills, Kansas claiming the top spot.

Two other Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs are also in the top 10:

  • No. 8 University Park, with a median household income of $ 214,477.
  • No. 10 Highland Park, with a median household income of $ 207,019.

The RenoFi study shows that the median household income in Westover Hills increased 26.1% from 2017 to 2018, placing it 5th for growth among the more than 600 suburbs surveyed.

The city also saw its median home price climb 21.1% during this period, earning it 10th place in this category.

Westover Hills is an exclusive 455-acre enclave with a population of less than 600. On his website, Fort Worth real estate broker Tim Young describes Westover Hills as “zero point” for the oil and cattle families of Fort Worth in the 1930s and 1940s.

“More like the Hollywood Hills than a typical Fort Worth neighborhood,” Young says, “the place has a very distinct feel of old money that was once very brash and young.”

It is among the countries “Million Dollar Cities” as described in January by the real estate platform Zillow. The city earned this distinction with a typical home value of $ 1,677,514 in November. Unsurprisingly, University Park ($ 1,468,731) and Highland Park ($ 1,695,262) join Westover Hills at this club, along with Westlake ($ 1,752,752).

RenoFi collected data on Westover Hills, University Park and Highland Park as part of a to study Best Suburbs in the United States While these three communities rank among the best for wealth, they failed to make RenoFi’s list of the best suburbs in the United States. The ranking also took into account factors such as the property tax rate, unemployment rate and crime rate.

“One of the most important things to finding the perfect home is the neighborhood,” RenoFi co-founder and CEO Justin Goldman said in a statement. “In this report, we’ve looked at some of the main factors that contribute to what makes a good neighborhood.

Taking the crown of RenoFi for the most livable suburb is the Atlanta suburb of Druid Hills. It is followed by Washington, DC, the suburbs of Falls Church and Pimmit Hills, both in Virginia; Melrose, Massachusetts, near Boston; and Pleasant Ridge, Michigan, near Detroit.
