Amazon is hiring for a clothing store in Easton

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Amazon is bringing its brick-and-mortar clothing store, Amazon Stylein downtown Easton later this year.

The store marks the first Amazon Style location in Ohio and the second in the country, with the first celebrating its grand opening on May 25 in Los Angeles. The opening date for the Easton store has not been announced.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Columbus community and to offer customers an innovative new way to shop their favorite looks on Amazon in person,” said Monica Ravi, COO of Amazon Style in a statement. “We also look forward to welcoming hundreds of employees to our team. These are great jobs with competitive pay and benefits and offer the opportunity for a career at Amazon.

Amazon Style was designed to help customers discover looks through a personalized shopping experience using the Amazon Shopping app. Customers will scan an item’s QR code to see sizes, colors and customer ratings.

Shoppers can then add the item to a fitting room or send it directly to the pick-up counter. While browsing, Amazon will update the recommendations displayed in the app.

“Technology has helped us reimagine what’s possible in the dressing room,” an Amazon spokesperson said. “Gone are the days of having to leave your dressing room or wait for someone to attend to you in order to get another size style.

When a fitting room is ready, shoppers are notified via the app and directed to the assigned room. Inside, shoppers will see the items they requested while shopping in the store. They can also use the in-room touchscreen to request additional sizes, colors and styles, and have items delivered directly.

To bring Amazon Style to life, Amazon is looking to fill entry-level and management positions. All roles offer pay starting at $15/hour for starters and $16.50 for core employees.

“[Amazon Style] employees are dedicated to helping customers find the looks they love and feel good in,” an Amazon spokesperson said. “While responsibilities vary by role, new hires can expect to perform tasks such as providing personalized customer service, delivering items to dressing room closets, marketing the store with the latest styles, assist customers at checkout, manage back-of-house operations, and more.”
