A thrifty bride has wowed TikTok users after revealing she found her wedding dress for just $3.75.
Jillian Lynch, from Ohio, married her 13-year-old partner on May 13, saying she decided to go to a thrift store to pick up her dress and “never considered” d go to a bridal shop.
“Because I was saving all the time, it was just an option”, Lynch told the insider.
The couple said they never wanted a big wedding, deciding on a micro-wedding with just 30 guests in Arizona, where most of their friends and family live.
Lynch, who posts it frequently second-hand finds on TikTokknew she wanted something simple and white, and hoped to avoid the traditionally elaborate wedding dress.
After searching in a few stores, the bride-to-be found a brand new dress – still with tags – exactly one month before the wedding. Originally priced at $4.99 through the thrift store, a sale brought the total down to just $3.75.
Meanwhile, the actual retail price of designer Camila Coelho’s brand new dress is $220, per revolution.
Lynch paid nearly 30 times the sale price to have the dress altered to her size, for $110, then completed the look with a pair of $8 vintage heels. The grand total for her bridal look: $121.75.
“I feel like it straddled that wedding line to not be wedding-related at all,” Lynch said of her white dress with an asymmetrical neckline.
Hundreds of thousands of TikTok users tuned in to Lynch’s wedding prep and hailed the stunning discount she got.
“It’s perfection,” said one user.
