Cotton+Creek brings new trends and gifts to The Waters in Pike Road

The recently opened Cotton + Creek boutique sells beautiful clothing, accessories and amazing gifts in downtown The Waters at Pike Road.

Store owner Jessica Tullis Carr said that as a resident of Waters she had wanted to provide Pike Road with another retail option. When a girl’s plans changed, she jumped at a new opportunity.

“I live in The Waters and have wanted to bring us something cute and functional for years,” Carr said. “The community is amazing. And I thought it needed something that continues to elevate the resort lifestyle. My daughter actually opened Cotton + Creek in April 2021 in Prattville. She decided she wanted to go back to school, so I took over the business.

She said the response to the store opening in June has been outstanding.

“Pike Road is amazing! Such a big community. They are so supportive,” she said. “The city welcomed us with open arms. And everyone is ready to help us where they can.

The store is approximately 2,000 square feet. Carr said only the lower part of the building is now in use. “The storefront is approximately 800 square feet of retail space. We have individual rooms for our lash artist and space for other future entrepreneurs to join our space. beauty services, contact us,” she said.

Opening the business created six new full- and part-time jobs, Carr said.

Cotton offers women’s clothing, footwear, accessories and gifts in-store and online. “We plan to expand our inventory to include men, children and pets in the future. We also have an eyelash artist joining our team on July 5,” she said, adding that the name of the service will be “Lashed by Kaylee”.

She said an overwhelming majority of sales now occur in the store. Cotton is also hosting live sales on Facebook on Mondays at 2 p.m. The store’s Facebook site is @cottonandcreek.

Cotton offers a wide variety of styles for different age groups. “We have clothes that start at $15 all the way up to high-end items at $150,” Carr said. “We carry brands such as Vintage Havana, J.Marie, Taylor Shaye Designs and ShuShop. We also feature local artists like KT Creations, which is Kaitlyn Piggott, a 10th grader attending Pike Road High School. And we’re always open to adding locally made items, so get in touch. We want everyone to be able to find exactly what they are looking for. Whether they’re jogging around the neighborhood or attending a beautiful chapel wedding.

Carr plans to begin featuring fall articles in late July and early August.

“We get new articles every week,” she said. “Follow us on social media for pop-ups and special events throughout each month. We have so much planned!
