Eyewear brand Warby Parker causes a stir with new store in Houston

Innovative, lively and generous eyewear brand Warby Parker has been a hit with the fashionable and charity crowd since its launch in 2010. Now Baybrook-area residents can put on a show at the brand’s sixth Houston-area location, which will open Saturday, March 26 at Baybook Mall.

Shoppers here can search for the brand’s eyewear, contacts, and more. Eyewear options include the new Gallery Edition and Sculpted Series collections, daily contact lens brand Warby Parker (Scout by Warby Parker) and third-party contacts, according to an announcement.

For those dreading eye exams, Warby Parker offers customers a Virtual Vision Test, which is an app that allows users to update prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses (if eligible) at the using an iPhone X.

Themed with the sleek brand, the Baybrook location will feature custom in-store artwork by José Antonio Roda Martínez.

Well-known to the eyewear-wearing public as an online one-stop-shop that would send people five pairs of frames to try on, offering both those and necessary prescriptions at relatively inexpensive rates, the company had quietly, simultaneously, built his brick and mortar business. The new Baybrook store marks the 15th in Texas.

Noted for his charity, Warby Parker distributes a pair of glasses to a person in need for each pair of Warby Parker purchased; to date, more than 8 million pairs have been distributed, the company says in a press release.
