WEST SAYVILLE, NY— A new sportswear and lifestyle store is coming to West Sayville. The owner of Eastbound Trading Co. wants to bring a new shopping option to downtown Sayville, meeting the needs of a community that he believes enjoys local shopping.
Max Procopio is a Sayville resident who has seen how dedicated the residents of Sayville are to shopping at local small businesses.
“There are people here who will only buy local produce, whether it’s what they decorate their homes with, everything. But Sayville doesn’t have a quality men’s clothing store yet.”
Eastbound Trading Co. takes over the R&G Brenner space at 102 Main Street.
Procopio told Patch that it carefully selects which brands to include in the store that are quality, durable and affordable. He plans to haul products from the local Long Island business, like hand-carved wooden charcuterie boards from Long Beach’s Woodwork Pier. It will also stock outdoor brands like Wolverine and Coastline clothing from North Carolina and authentic Hawaiian shirts from Hawaii.
“Whatever I’m going to wear, I’m ready to put my name and my reputation behind, and that means a lot to me.”
The bulk of its merchandise will be men’s and unisex outdoor and nautical products.
“People are really excited to be back” shopping in person for the holidays, he noted, explaining that it aims to be open by the holidays.
“We’re excited to be a new stopover in Sayville for local shopping.”
