Free entry to this event which starts at 10 a.m. on October 9
Old Alabama Town invites the community of Montgomery to Fall Market Day on Saturday, October 9.
Admission is free to this outdoor event, which starts at 10 a.m. with vendors, storytellers, music, and free tours. Customers will enter through Lucas Tavern. Doors close at 3 p.m.
Vendors carry a wide variety of products, including popular bee items from Stacy Vandortrecht. The Vine Man, Andrew McCall, creates his birdhouses from reclaimed wood. It will also star Sarah Tanner Cheatham, who works in resin and ink, and Cindy Clark who creates portraits of pets. Simply Succulents offers a variety of beautiful plants. Hamstead candles will feature a lot of fall scents. Read Herring Books will feature a variety of books – some from authors from Montgomery and Alabama. Twisted Roots offers clothing and accessories. Of course, the Old Alabama gift shop will also carry a variety of products and books.
Tales and music can be enjoyed from the back porch of the Martin-Barnes house. The music starts at 11:30 am with new talented singer / guitarist Matthew Parker. After Matthew at 12:05 pm, Joseph Trimble will perform his original works. At 12:40 pm, Tim Henderson will be singing favorite old story songs like “Ghost Riders in the Sky” and originals like “Ax Man” about a serial killer in New Orleans. At 1:15 p.m., Greta Lambert and Rodney Clark will be telling stories. Then at 2 p.m., the Old Alabama Town Revue will perform fall and Halloween-themed songs.
Bring chairs or sit at the picnic tables which will be placed near the porch for easy listening.
