A popular downtown store has opened a new location in Hammonds of Hull. The news was announced this morning on social networks, to the delight of local residents.
Chinese Laundry has moved into the popular downtown space. Formed in 2004 with its flagship store on Savile Street, Chinese Laundry opened a second location in York in 2015.
Today, the vintage clothing brand launched its third location in the heart of downtown. The new store will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Announcing the news on Facebook, Hammonds from Hull wrote: “NEW! Our latest addition to our local independent dealership partners sees vintage clothing institution Chinese Laundry Clothing move into the same floor of the former Hammonds department store.
“Chinese Laundry is one of Yorkshire’s leading vintage clothing stores. Founded in 2004 in Hull, located on Saville Street and expanded to a second store in York in 2015, the clothing store is a leader in vintage fashion classic for over 14 years.
“Both boutiques house a huge range of vintage clothing for men and women, with stock handpicked from some of the best vintage collections from Europe and the USA. Open today from 10am, then 7 days on 7 from 10 am to 6 pm.”
Locals were thrilled to hear the news, with Varenka saying “awesome” and Garreth saying “beautiful” after reading the post. Kris echoed those sentiments, saying “absolutely love it here!”.
