Customers will be the first to be able to order items for home delivery for a flat rate of £ 4, regardless of the size of the order.
The pilot program – initially launched to 18,000 Poundland colleagues and selected guests earlier in the year – enables more than 2,500 customer favorite products to be delivered to their homes.
All items available online will be the same price as those found in Poundland’s 850+ stores.
The initial categories available for purchase online include Grocery, Gardening, Entertainment, DIY, PEP & CO Home, Health & Beauty, Stationery & Crafts.
Operations for the new Poundland.co.uk service are initially managed from a former Poundland store in Cannock which has been converted to an online distribution center.
Poundland, headquartered in Walsall, has partnered with Hermes to provide logistics services.
Retail and Processing Director Austin Cooke said: “We are delighted with this initial phase of testing and are now delighted to open poundland.co.uk to lucky customers in the Midlands where we have started life 30 years ago.
“As we learn about the pilot, we will be opening up the new service to more of the UK during the year.”
Customers outside of the original delivery areas can register their interest in the service at poundland.co.uk.
The Birmingham postcode areas include parts of the Borough of Dudley, the District of Lichfield and Sandwell.
Poundland plans to open around 25 to 30 additional stores in the current fiscal year through September.
