PPDS has announced that 110 of its 55-inch Philips X-Line 4K video wall displays have been installed inside the futuristic new Modivo store in Warsaw, which will be the world’s first fully automated ‘phygital’ retail store.

Modivo’s technology partner Nanovo – a Warsaw-based specialist in creating digital spaces for increased customer attention and engagement – installed all 110 Android screens in the one-stop shop. Designed for 24/7 operation, and with FailOver security (screens never go dark), the installation includes an imposing almost bezel-less 25-panel Philips video wall, which thanks to its Pure software Built-in Color Pro to provide higher luminance through custom color temperature – creates a bright and immersive environment for visitors as they enter the store.

Located inside the 85,000 m², Galeria Mlociny Shopping Center in Warsaw, Modivo – part of Eobuwie.pl Group – is one of the leading online fashion retailers with an online catalog of more than 70,000 references in nearly 250 brands. These iInclude Armani, Boss, Calvin Klein, Diesel, DKNY, Guess, Kurt Geiger, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, among others.

Open in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Modivo store – the first under the Modivo brand – was designed to offer customers a “revolutionary” shopping experience, modern, more convenient and safer, merging the advantages of the physical and the digital, online shopping experiences, with the PPDS playing a central role.

“With the purchasing behavior of consumers already by going online, Modivo’s vision was to bring the same speed, convenience and cost benefits to their physical stores, ”explained Mariusz Chludzinski, Sales Director Poland at PPDS. “A volatile global pandemic added to the mix also meant the store had to be designed in such a way that it could continue to operate under the harshest conditions. Ensuring that customers can have a comfortable, safe and enjoyable shopping experience. Achieving this required a partner who shared a vision for innovative change to support the company and its customers, however radical those ideas might seem. At PPDS, we share this vision.

Breaking with tradition, the new Modivo store design features no in-store stock, creating a more open, cleaner look with fewer staff. Instead, customers entering the store – a ‘digital display theater’ showcasing the company’s latest fashions, collections and brands – sit on dedicated sofas to browse the store’s catalog using of a touch pad. Running on Nanovo’s exclusive in-store digital platform, SIGNIO, all stock is displayed on an easy-to-use interface, which is directly linked to the ‘automated warehouse’ attached to the store (storage room) – which contains more of 100,000 articles.

Once the customer has made their selection, all they need to do is enter their mobile number on the tablet to receive a unique code. This code can then be presented at the entrance to the fitting room and, once scanned, the customer is directed to one of the eight available fitting rooms, each named after the major fashion capitals in the area. world, such as Prague, London, Milan. Their items are then made available behind sliding doors located in the dressing room.

In addition, each dressing room is equipped with a wall mounted touch screen, which displays the customer’s initial selection. Again, this screen is directly connected to Modivo’s warehouse logistics system for added convenience, allowing customers to view and modify their selections (for example, adding new items and sizes), which will be delivered again. in a matter of moments. Gone are the days of leaving the locker room or asking a friend to pick up items and sizes.

Once the customer has made his final decision, he can validate his order using the display and leave the dressing room empty-handed. The items they wish to purchase are then delivered to the collection point where they are paid for, thus concluding the visit.
