With the imminent arrival of Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil seems to be the strangest man in Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking midfield. Because of this, there are now very strong indications that he is going on loan and returning to La Liga for consistent game time.
Hector Gomez, a Valencia-based football journalist, now reports that the deal is done and will be announced soon.
As far as I know, the loan does NOT include a purchase option – just a direct loan with Bryan returning to the side at the end of the La Liga season.
I’ve seen Spurs fans disappointed with this loan as Gil returns to Spain instead of heading to another English club where he can continue to adapt to Premier League football. I understand this concern and share it a little, but transfers are complicated and we don’t have the whole story. Notably, Gil has never been seriously linked with loans to another English club, so it could be as simple as it was the club that showed the most interest. And it’s good. As long as he plays regularly, that’s the best thing for his future development.
As always, we await the official announcement. It could happen today, or it could (more likely) happen Monday, the transfer deadline day.
Update: Fab says: let’s go!

Tottenham are in advanced talks with OL for Tanguy Ndombele. The Dele Alli-AC Milan rumors are far from accurate. #THFC
