Stockholm Fashion Week came to an end and all the while photographer Søren Jepsen was on the pitch capturing the city’s most stylish. Between bright colors, flashy prints and accessories of the moment, it is these apparently simple looks that stand out. Viewers opted for many black and white pieces, from handbags to boots and knitwear to costumes. The combination of colorless hues is a modern take on the effortless minimalist style we often see in Scandinavia; however, instead of camel and gray neutrals, it was bolder but still minimalist in black and white.
On the fall catwalks we might have seen colorful collage clothes, re-emergent glamorous party outfits, and bright poppy-inspired style, but this group of street style stars gave us outfit inspiration from fall fashion a little easier to digest (and also to wear). Mixing versatile pieces such as ivory jeans, black outerwear or white buttons will always be a reliable recipe for a cool, off-season style.
A horizontal approach
The sailor-striped knit is a wardrobe staple in its own right – it goes well with everything from a white maxi skirt to a pair of denim.
For a polished look, stick to a metal.
The black accessories go well with the separate white suits.
Stack a few different shades of white in different materials for a uniform look that doesn’t lack texture.
This fall, replace your traditional black boots or handbag with crisp white.
Play black and white pairing with pieces that combine the two for you.
Blue jeans are also neutral in our book.
