Upscale clothing store forced to close after being robbed for almost everything – FOX13 News Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A small business on the Highland Strip said it was closing until further notice, just a day after more than $ 70,000 in clothes and sneakers were stolen from the store’s exit.

Hours after the South Highland store break-in, Bad Timing, co-owner Nate Packard said they were all still reeling from what happened early Tuesday morning.

“The cops were already there, the door was broken into, they just saw it was all missing,” Packard said.

Surveillance video from inside the store shows a handful of people walking in and out, picking up loads of items from the shelves and shelves.

“The first two racks here were packed. They took everything, so we estimate a value of $ 70,000 for the clothes alone. No shirt less than $ 150, most of the time $ 200 and up. “

But Packard added that they weren’t just taking clothes.

“They left our display stuff, so they only had one shoe in all the boxes they took, so they can’t do nothing with that, we can’t do nothing with the stack of shoes that we have out there now, ”Packard said.

He said it will take time to rebuild what they have lost.

It hurts for this to happen during the holidays, the peak time of the year for business.

“For most retailers, whether you’re a small business like us or a large corporation, this is when any store makes its money. Everyone is saving all of their money by buying Black Friday gifts at the end of December. “

He said they appreciate all the support they have received so far and for now, the main goal is to stay afloat.
